U.S. Flag Offensive?

Just before Memorial Day Weekend, a lady hung the American Flag in her office. When she returned after being away for a few days she found it had been removed and placed on the FLOOR because someone from a foreign country who had become a U.S. citizen found it offensive. The link will take you to a video of a news interview on that event.

The following comes from Lynn:

Wow - When I saw this, it struck me as such a great opportunity for me to extend some compassion to this person who has some emotional healing to do that runs pretty deep and has been around for quite some time. And we also get the gift: With the action of compassion, we are joined with the Love that is us and we are extending it out to that person, that situation, and in return, we are joined with Spirit as who we truly are. And that brings healing in ourselves and peace. When each of us sees every situation as an opportunity to join in that Holy relationship with "what is," we let our light shine a little bit brighter and brighter and brighter, and others recognize their own light in us, and then they are able to shine a little bit brighter, too.

Its not going to take a new law, a new amendment, a new government to really make the changes we are seeing and experiencing now. Its going to take one light, then another and then another, until lights are shining so bright from all over the world. Then we will have a new Earth, a new world.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to join with Spirit right where Love resides in me. If we want to get in touch with that Inner Wisdom, our Divine Self, or True Self, the extension of God, All that is, we have to go to where that love resides within us. That will change the world; we'll
have a Holy Shift (as Lauren says! :-)

Thank you so much for letting me express my beliefs here in this way. I don't mean to offend anyone with my truths or my path, I just appreciate the opportunity to share them.
Much love,
Lynn

Following from me (RC): Lynn has a good point. "Attitude is everything." I do not think she means compassion without action.

Ghandhi was able to have compassion for those who imprisoned and persecuted him and his Country, and as a result earned their respect and co-operation. He also did not egnore the so important actions steps.

This is a quote from Rev. Barbara: "When Jesus said "Peace I leave you" or "My peace I bring to you," I don't think he necessarily meant for people to sit down, put aside their responsibilities and contemplate existence. I think he meant that we have the ability to find a state of peace doing whatever tasks are before us. I think he meant that we can co-create our lives in such a way that goals are met and dreams realized. Claim your own peace within, using a definition of peace that works well for you."

P.S.
I have allot of respect for the lady who had the courage to take this incident before the news media. It was her supervisor who disgraced the flag, and she risked loosing her job to do the right thing. God bless such courage.
