You may remember

Some of you may remember the interesting history of Cargil in the U.S., and its pull out. But for those of you who don't:

Cargil use to provide chickens and feed to U.S. farmers who were willing to build chicken houses. The farmers raised the chickens, and sold them to Cargil. Many American farmers did quite well in this form of teamwork especially once their houses were paid off free and clear. We knew of many of them.

Just before Cargil pulled out of the U.S., to take business overseas, they did something very odd. They demanded that the farmers upgrade their houses putting them in debt again. Then they stopped providing the chickens, and began doing business out of the Country. This, of course, destroyed many of the farmers here.

Over 20 years ago Farmers were being put out of business by "Globalization", and their cries were ignored by most (excluding Willie Nelson). Most continue to look the other way thinking oh well it is not us, we were going to get cheaper chickens (we didn't). The farmer lost their farms and lively hood. There were thousands in North Florida alone. To bad we did not listen to the U.S. farmer because many Americans are now hollering the same foul play. Now that you and I sit in our comfortable paid for homes we will hopefully listen and extend a helping hand. http://www.scribd.com/doc/7470879/Cargill-A-Threat-to-Food-and-Farming
